Suspended Hampton Girls Basketball Coach and Elementary teacher Leon Tolley has plead not guilty to theft charges on Tuesday.

According to the report by WJHL, Tolley plead not guilty to the charges, and the judge set his next court appearance for July 14th. The Hampton coach is charged with two counts of theft under $500.

Tolley is charged with two counts of theft with taking narcoctic painkillers, Lortabs, out of another teacher’s medicine bottle in her classroom. Video surveillance captured Tolley twice, but the Hampton teacher had said he replaced the pills in the bottle the first time.

The investigation was started in December, and Tolley was suspended without pay. After a previous grand jury found there was not enough evidence to convict Tolley of the charges, another grand jury delivered charges earlier this month.
