It is a busy time for the county football teams as they continue to get ready for the 2018 season.

All five county schools will participate in 7-on-7 activities to close out the week after resuming practice following the two-week TSSAA mandated dead period.

On Thursday (July 12), Elizabethton will host a 7-on-7 scrimmage with a number of teams participating including Happy Valley. The Cyclones also hosted a 7-on-7 and traveled to Dobyns-Bennett earlier this week.

EHS is also slated to host another 7-on-7 scrimmage on the 17th at Citizens Bank Stadium. That event will also start at 6 p.m.

Friday (July 13) will see the start of the annual two-day Hampton Passing League at JC Campbell Stadium. Action on Friday starts at 5 p.m., with Cloudland, Happy Valley and Unaka joining the Bulldogs. Johnson County, Chuckey-Doak and the Silverbacks are also slated to attend.

Saturday’s (July 14) action at Hampton is set to start at 10 a.m., with the tournament to begin at 12:30.

Elizabethton will hit the road on Saturday as they travel to the East Tennessee 7-on-7 Perimeter Passing League in Maryville. The Cyclones are set to play 1 p.m., 2 p.m., 3 p.m., and 4 p.m.

Teams are allowed to start full contact drills on July 23.
