The Rangers slowly pulled away in the first game of the night jumping out to an 11-4 lead after three innings of play.

Dakota Gallimore went 3-for-4, while Bryson Street was 2-for-3. On the mound, a trio of Unaka pitchers allowed just four hits and two earned runs.

The second game of the doubleheader saw Unaka erupt for nine runs in the second and never looked back.

John-Wesley Hardin and Justin Houghton went 2-for-2, while Isaac Hill had a 2-for-3 performance during the game. Seven Unaka batters were walked. On the mound, Hunter Rice picked up the win as he allowed just two hits.


Elizabethton 11, Gate City (Va.) 1 (softball)
The Lady Cyclones took an early lead and stayed hot to take an 11-1 road victory on Friday.

Lauren Brickey went 3-for-4 at the plate with four RBI, while Abbi McKinney and Jessica Cunningham had two hits a piece.

Brickey also picked up the win in the circle as she allowed just one earned run on one hit with six strikeouts.

Daniel Boone 12, Happy Valley 1 (Baseball)
The Warriors were unable to overcome an early deficit in nonconference action on Thursday.

Eli Fleenor, Dustun Sams and Sage Haun went 1-for-2 to lead HV at the plate. In 2.1 innings of relief work, Kevin Whitaker allowed two earned runs on four hits.

Elizabethton 5, Volunteer 2 (baseball)
The Cyclones scored three runs in the third to break open a scoreless game.

Logan Estep went 3-for-4, while Jesse Carr was 1-for-2 at the plate. Michael Robinson had three RBI in the game.

Evan Carter picked up the win as he allowed just one earned run on one hit with seven strikeouts.
