It is going to be a busy day for the TSSAA Board of Control on Thursday.
The BOC is set to hear the appeal from the Unaka High School on the sanctions from their football forfeit. Currently, the boys’ basketball program is barred from postseason play. The punishment comes after the football team forfeited their first-round game of the TSSAA playoffs.
The punshiment is laid out in the TSSAA bylaws.
The district and region alignment will also take center stage. Schools have the opportunity to appeal their placement in the various districts and regions. The proposed region and districts are laid out below.
Of note, Union County, who is currently slotted in Elizabethton’s football region, is requesting to not play a region football schedule. The school would like to play an independent schedule.
