Tuesday Roundup: Unaka, HV split pair of games

Happy Valley 84, Unaka 73 (boys)
The Warriors defended home court on Tuesday night. Dillon Barlow tallied 24 points, and Austin Hicks added 15 to lead HV scorers.

Chris Young and Brayden Sams had 13 and 12 points, respectively.

Kyler Lewis led Unaka with 34 points. Gary Wright added 12 points to the Ranger cause.


Unaka 53, Happy Valley 51 (girls)
The Lady Rangers rallied to pick up an overtime victory on the road.

It took an 18-5 fourth quarter for Unaka to force the extra period. Lexi Garland tallied 13 points to lead Unaka. Sydney Forney scored 10 points for the Lady Rangers, while Sarah Tipton and Madison Ensor added nine points apiece.

The Lady Warriors saw Kaitlyn Robers score 12 points to lead the way. Emily Whitaker and Bayley McGee scored 11 and 10 points, respectively.

Elizabethton 86, Morristown East 79 (boys)
The Cyclones had battled back in style.

After trailing by 14 points in the game, Elizabethton outscored the Hurricanes 52-37 in the second half.

Michael Robinson tallied 29 points to lead Elizabethton, while Hayden Townsend added 18 points. Jacob Norris scored 12 points in the game for the Cyclones.

Cloudland 77, Johnson County 18 (girls)
The Lady ‘Landers scored early and often as they cruised past Johnson County.

Shian Strickland had a game-high 15 points for Cloudland. Donrae Taylor and Johanna Johnson had 12 points apiece. Trinity Vines added 10 points for the CHS cause. In all, nine Lady ‘Landers reached the scorebook.
