Unaka High School has officially announced Kenneth Chambers as the new head coach of the girl’s basketball program. Chambers had served the last four seasons as assistant coach at Cloudland High School.

Chambers replaces Wes Wright as head coach at Unaka. Wright will remain as a teacher at the system. This was the second year in a row that Unaka had looked for a new head coach prior to Wright returning this past season.

Chambers previously served as head coach of the girls program for six seasons.

Cloudland, who is coached by Matt Birchfield, is coming off a 2013-14 season where they reached substate but fell to Meigs County in a heartbreaker. Unaka went 5-24 last season before seeing their season end at the District 1-A tournament with a loss to Hampton.
