Danielle Vines hasn’t missed a beat.
The senior rolled to a berth in the TSSAA Spring Fling for girls’ tennis on Monday as she claimed the Region 1-A/AA title in Greeneville.
Vines continued her impressive run in the postseason as she has yet to lose a game during the District 1-A/AA and Region 1-A/AA tournaments. She qualified for the Regional Championship with a 6-0, 6-0 victory over Greeneville’s Bailey Snelson.
Vines secured the berth to Murfreesboro with a 6-0, 6-0 championship match victory.
Unfortunately, the Cyclone duo of Caleb Bailey and Logan Birchfield came up short in their quest for Murfreesboro.
The twosome was defeated by Greeneville’s Patrick Cawood and Griffin Leonard in the semifinals.
Unicoi County’s Conly Shults as well as the duo of Mallory Jackson and Emily Lynch also advanced to the Region Championship matches in their respective fields. Jackson and Lynch earned a trip to Murfreesboro, while Shults fell 6-2, 6-2 in the title match.
