A historic season on Warrior Hill kept on track.
Happy Valley limited Grace Christian to take a 21-7 victory in the Class 2A playoffs on Friday night. The Warriors advance to play Austin-East in the third round next Friday.
The Rams got on the board early as Ryan Medders scored on a four-yard touchdown run. Austin Hicks, however, answered for the Warriors with a 30-yard touchdown.
Senior Sage Haun struck on the next Happy Valley possession by finding Dylan Street for a 38-yard touchdown.
A Michael Harrah field goal gave HV a 17-7 lead at the half.
The Warriors put an exclamation point on the win as Hicks scored on an 18-yard run with 7:31 left in the game.
Hicks finished with 154 yards on 12 carries. Street finished with 91 offensive yards – 46 receiving and 45 rushing, while Haun went 8-of-10 passing for 97 yards.
The win moves the Warriors to 10-1 on the year. Happy Valley will hit the road with a trip Knoxville to take on Austin-East.
