Warriors cruise on the road

Happy Valley scored early and often on Friday night.

The Warriors rolled to a 59-0 victory over Region 1-2A foe Cumberland Gap.


With the win, HV stays tied atop the region standings with a week to play with an 8-1 mark.

Dustun Sams struck early for the Warriors on a 41-yard touchdown, and senior Sage Haun threw a 43-yard touchdown pass to Dylan Street to push the lead to 14-0 in the opening minutes. Sams added another touchdown to give HV a 20-0 lead after a quarter of play.

The second quarter saw Street score on a 75-yard run followed by a one-yard Austin Hicks touchdown. Another Hicks touchdown along with a Street punt return for score gave the Warriors a 46-0 lead after two quarters of play.

Dakota Cochren scored on a fumble recovery and Will Tittle capped off the scoring with a rushing touchdown in the second half.

Hicks had a team-high 79 yards on 10 carries, while Street added just carries for 74 yards. Sams finished the night with 66 yards.

The Warriors will close out the regular season next Friday with South Greene visiting Warrior Hill.
