It was a Three Rivers Sweep on Warrior Hill Monday night.
Happy Valley picked up a varsity sweep over Johnson County as the Warriors rallied to take a 63-58 victory. The Lady Warriors rolled to a 67-38 victory.
In the boys’ game, a run in the start of the fourth quarter proved to be the difference.
The Warriors stayed within a possession of the Longhorns for most of the first half and third quarter. A Longhorn run to end the third quarter gave Johnson County a nine-point lead.
However, HV fought back with a 16-0 run that saw them take the lead and increased it to double-digits. Johnson County battled back to trim the lead to a point in the closing minute, but the Warriors held on for the win.
Austin Hicks led the way with 22 points. Chris Young had 11 points. Sam Blevins also reached double-digits with 10 points for the Warriors.
In the girls’ game, the Lady Warriors took control early and never looked back. After jumping out to a 22-8 lead during the first quarter, HV increased the lead to 45-19 at the half.
Kaitlyn Roberts had a game-high 17 points, while Shalyn Whitson had 15 points. Emily Whitaker and Adrienne Henegar had 10 and eight points, respectively.
