‘Betsy Baseball takes two from HV

Elizabethton had their offensive attack on full strength Tuesday.

The Cyclones swept a doubleheader over Happy Valley with a 12-0 win in game one and 13-3 victory in game two at Twins Fields.


In the first game of the night, Elizabethton got things started in the top of the first as Karson Dillard and Evan Carter crossed home plate to take a 2-0 lead. EHS took further control in the second and never looked back.

Nico Ashley, Lawson Wagner, Matthew Dailey, Carter and Dillard had two hits apiece for the Cyclones, while Bryce Carter and Dylan McKeehan had a hit apiece.

Dailey picked up the win on the mound as he allowed just two hits with 12 strikeouts in a complete game effort.

In the second game, EHS took an early lead as Dillard touched home plate and Jaden Anderson knocked two runs home. HV, however, answered in the top of the second as Hunter Smith hit a deep single that brought Zac Workman and Drew Turner across the plate.

The Cyclones placed five runs on the board in the home side of the second and three more in the bottom of the third to take control of the game.

Ashton Wilson led EHS with a 3-for-3 performance, while Bryson Rollins, Evan Perkins, Anderson and Ashley had two hits apiece. Smith had two hits to lead HV, while Bart Wilson, Turner and Workman each had a HV hit.

Carter picked up the win in a complete game effort as he allowed just one earned run on four hits. In relief work, Carter had a strong performance for HV as he allowed just three earned runs in three innings of work.
