After a week of play, Hampton held steady in this week’s TSWA Prep Football Poll.

The Bulldogs remained ranked No. 5 in the Class 1A poll after last week’s win at Avery County (N.C.). In Class 2A, Happy Valley continued to receive votes.

Hampton tallied 143 points to hold down the No. 5 spot. The Bulldogs were just eight points behind No. 4 Richland.

South Pittsburg continued to be the unanimous No. 1 with all 22 first-place votes. McKenzie and Coalfield were No. 2 and No. 3, respectively.

In Class 2A, the Warriors received 14 points – just two points behind No. 10 Bledsoe County) – after the season-opening win over Unaka.

Huntingdon, East Nashville and Marion County held down the top three spots.
