Elizabethton broke into the win column in a big way Friday night.
The Cyclones dispatched Grainger 47-0 to pick up a Region 1-4A victory at Citizens Bank Stadium.
Elizabethton got the offense rolling Friday night.
Dalton Mitchell hit Teddy Orton for a 30-yard touchdown, and Nate Stephens added a 30-yard touchdown as EHS took a 14-0 lead early.
Orton caught his second touchdown of the night – a 36-yard pass from Gib Maupin – to take a 21-0 advantage into the second quarter.
Maupin hit Jeriah Griffin for a 36-yard score in the second before Eli Blevins and Maupin connected for a 22-yard score.
The final score of the first half came when Stephens scored in a six-yard run to give the Cyclones a 41-0 halftime lead.
Maupin scored his third touchdown of the night as he hit Cam Baker for a 21-yard score to account for the final.
As a team, Elizabethton had 438 total offensive yards.
Maupin was 7-of-9 passing for 207 yards, while Mitchell was 6-of-6 for 120 yards. Orton finished the night with 118 receiving yards on four catches.
Nate Stephens had five carries for 99 yards.
The Cyclone defense continued to be strong by holding Grainger to 164 combined yards.
EHS is set to hit the road next Friday with a trip to Anderson County.
