Elizabethton celebrated Senior Night in a big way.
The Cyclones pulled away to take a 38-7 win over Grainger in a Region 1-4A clash at Citizens Bank Stadium.
Elizabethton struck early as Peyton Lingerfelt found Braylon Birtt for an 11-yard touchdown to give EHS the early lead. After the teams traded turnovers, Lingerfelt scored on a 13-yard run to take a 14-0 lead.
The Cyclones took a 21-0 lead into the half with a William McDuffie touchdown and William Bowers adding the extra point with 11 seconds remaining in the half.
After Grainger scored on the opening drive of the third quarter, Elizabethton answered as Lingerfelt scored on an 11-yard touchdown run. Britt stopped the next Grainger drive with an interception and scored on a 29-yard touchdown catch on a Lingerfelt pass.
Bowers added a field goal to wrap up the scoring.
Lingerfelt was 10-of-17 passing for 176 yards and added 59 yards on the ground. Britt caught four passes for 107 receiving yards. McDuffie led the Elizabethton passing attack with 79 yards on 10 carries.
