Elizabethton only needed one run on Tuesday night.
The Cyclones clinched a spot in the District 1-AA Championship game with a 1-0 victory over Sullivan South in the winner’s bracket finale at TVA Credit Union Ballpark. The win also clinches a berth in the Region 1-AA tournament.
First pitch for the District 1-AA Championship game is set for 8 p.m., on Wednesday. Elizabethton will take on the winner of the 5 p.m., losers’ bracket finale.
On Tuesday night, it was a pitchers duel.
The Cyclones tallied three hits in the game, but none bigger then Jaden Anderson’s single to the bottom of the sixth. The hit up the first-base line allowed Karson Dillard to cross home plate to break the stalemate and give EHS the win.
Matthew Dailey pitched a gem for the Cyclones on the mound to propel EHS to the win. Dailey allowed just four hits while recording five strikeouts in a complete game effort.
Bryson Rollins, Evan Carter and Anderson each tallied a hit in the game for Elizabethton.
