Cyclones edge Happy Valley in clash

Elizabethton used a quick start by the Elizabethton star to their advantage on Warrior Hill.

The Cyclones jumped out to a 6-1 lead en route to a 9-2 victory over Happy Valley in Three Rivers action.

Elizabethton jumped out early as Michael Robinson pushed Ethan Eggleston across home plate in the top of the first. Brodie Adams pushed the lead to 4-0 with a three-run homer to left field.


HV got a run back in the home side of the frame as Dustun Sams pushed Will Hampton across the plate.

With two outs in the top of the second, the Cyclones added two runs as Evan Carter and Adams pushed a run apiece across home plate.

Neither team was able to get anything going until the bottom of the fifth when Tyler Hurley scored for the Warriors.

The Cyclones added a run in the sixth and two runs in the seventh.

Elizabethton star Ryan Wetzel was 2-for-2 at the plate. Evan Perkins went 2-for-3 for Elizabethton while Robinson went 2-for-4.

On the mound, Garrett Hartley got the win for the Cyclones as he allowed two runs on three hits with 10 strikeouts.

Sage Haun led the Warriors with a 2-for-4 performance at the plate, while Hampton and Hurley added a hit apiece.

Sams was handed the loss on the mound.
