Cyclones Fall In Region 1-3A Semifinals

Elizabethton was unable to keep pace with a hot Greeneville offense on Tuesday night.

The Cyclones battled hard but dropped an 87-53 decision to the Greene Devils in the Region 1-3A semifinals in Greeneville. With the loss, Elizabethton sees the season come to a close.

After Greeneville opened the scoring, Nick Wilson and Bryson Rollins scored back-to-back buckets to give EHS an early lead.

Bryce Van Huss drained a 3-pointer to push the lead to 7-2, but Greeneville responded with a run of their own to push the lead to 26-11 after a quarter of play.

The Greene Devils continued to hold the momentum in the second quarter by limiting the Cyclones offensively. That allowed Greeneville to take a 53-19 advantage into the second half.

Elizabethton continued to battle, but was unable to overcome the early deficit.

Jake Roberts led Elizabethton with 12 points, while Rollins had 10 points. Van Huss and Seth Carter added nine and seven points, respectively.

Reid Satterfield led Greeneville with 25 points. Jakobi Gillespie added 21 points.
