Cyclones hold firm atop Class 4A poll, Bulldogs enter pol in Class 2A

Elizabethton remained a familiar spot, while Hampton moved inside the top 10.

The Cyclones held down the No. 1 spot in the Class 4A TSSAA AP Poll, while the Bulldogs moved into the No. 10 spot in Class 2A for their first ranking of the season.

In Class 4A, Elizabethton claimed 15-of-16 first-place votes to remain ranked No. 1. The defending state champions, who dispatched Grainger on Friday night, tallied 157 points – 15 points ahead of No. 2 Hardin County.

Tullahoma, Springfield, and Marshall County rounded out the top five as the top seven remained unchanged.

In Class 2A, Hampton tallied 26 points to enter the poll at No. 10. The Bulldogs, who earned one first-place vote, was five points behind No. 9 and region foe South Greene.

Peabody was No. 1 after recorded 14-of-16 first-place votes in the poll. Meigs County and Lewis County were No. 2 and No. 3, respectively.

Elizabethton is set to travel to Cherokee on Friday night, while Hampton will hit the road to Johnson County.
