Elizabethton ended the regular season in style.
The Cyclones captured a 64-47 win over Unicoi County, while the Lady Cyclones took a 55-48 win over the Lady Devils in Three Rivers Conference play.
For the Elizabethton boys, a quick start set the tone.
Elizabethton raced out to a 12-5 lead in the first quarter, and nearly doubled up the Blue Devils in the second quarter to take a 33-16 advantage at the half.
From there, it was all Cyclones as EHS kept Unicoi in check.
Nico Ashley had 22 points to pace EHS, while Donta Earnest had 13 points. Parker Hughes ended the game with nine points.
In the girls’ game, Elizabethton took control early.
The Lady Cyclones extended an early lead to 15-8 after eight minutes of play. Elizabethton continued to control the game in the second as EHS held a nine-point lead at the break.
After the Lady Blue Devils cut into the lead, Elizabethton’s Morgan Headrick took over and pushed EHS to the win as she scored 14 points in the final eight minutes.
Headrick finished with 17 points for Elizabethton, while Kaitlin Bailey had 15 points. Kaylen Shell and Lina Lyon finished eight and seven points, respectively.
