Elizabethton used a stingy defensive effort to cruise to a win to wrap up the regular season.

The Lady Cyclones picked up a 61-16 victory over Johnson County on Thursday night.

EHS claimed the No. 2 seed for the Three Rivers Conference tournament and will open play on Friday, Feb. 19, with a home game.

Against the Lady Longhorns, Elizabethton jumped out early and never looked back.

Renna Lane scored 11 points while Lina Lyon added nine points in the opening minutes to push EHS to a 21-3 lead after the first quarter.

The Lady Cyclone defense continued to stymie Johnson County by holding them to just five points in the second quarter.

That allowed Elizabethton to take a 40-8 advantage into the half.

From there, EHS continued to hold control and cruised to the win.

Lyon finished with 28 points to lead the way, while Lane added 18 points to the EHS total. Maddie Fowler added five points.
