The final Tennessee AP Prep Football poll of the regular season featured a pair of county teams.
Elizabethton continued to hold down the top spot in Class 4A, while Hampton was ranked in the No. 8 slot in Class 2A.
In Class 4A, the Cyclones were a unanimous No. 1 selection by receiving all 15 first-place votes. That placed EHS 16 points ahead of No. 2 Tullahoma. Lexington, Springfield, and Anderson County rounded out the top five.
A pair of Region 1-4A foes were also ranked as Greeneville came in at No. 9 and Sullivan South was voted No. 10.
In Class 2A, the Bulldogs garnered 52 points to come in at No. 8 – just three points behind No. 7 Trousdale County. Peabody came in at No. 1, while Meigs County and Lewis County rounded out the top three.
Region 1-2A foe South Greene was ranked No. 6 in the poll.
Elizabethton and Hampton are set to open the playoffs on Friday night with home games against East Ridge and Onieda, respectively.
Kickoff is set for 7p.
