The final Tennessee Prep Football AP poll of 2019 featured two Carter County teams.
In Class 4A, Elizabethton finished in the No. 1 spot with 13-of-17 first-place votes. The Cyclones, who finished with the program’s first perfect season since 1951, tallied 164 points to finish 23 points ahead of No. 2 Haywood County.
Region 2-4A No. 1 seed Anderson County was No. 3 in the poll, while Greeneville was No. 4.
In Class 2A, Hampton was ranked No. 8. The Bulldogs, who have won seven straight games including the last three by a combined score of 147-0, tallied 51 points to finish 23 points behind No. 7 Fairley.
Peabody claimed the No. 1 spot, while Trousdale County and Region 2-2A No. 1 seed Meigs County finished in the No. 3 spot. Region 1-A foe South Greene was ranked No. 6.
Both teams are set to open the 2019 playoffs on Friday night.
