Elizabethton outlasted Cocke County to advance on Saturday night.
The Cyclones took a thrilling 63-60 victory over the Fighting Cocks in the Region 1-3A quarterfinals instead Treadway Gymnasium.
Elizabethton advances to the semifinals with the win where they will squad off against Greeneville. The semifinals and finals will be played at Hal Henard Gymnasium in Greeneville.
It was a back-and-forth battle from the opening tip.
Elizabethton jumped out to a 15-7 advantage after eight minutes of play.
After the Fighting Cocks jumped out in front during the second quarter, Elizabethton battled back ahead to take a 27-24 halftime lead.
The teams continued to trade shots in the third quarter, but Cocke County took a 40-37 lead after three complete quarters.
Elizabethton took the lead for good with just under two minutes to play as Bryson Rollins hit a lay-up, and then Rollins found Jake Roberts for a game-securing lay-up in the closing seconds.
Roberts led Elizabethton with 15 points. Nicholas Wilson and Mason Ball added 14 points, while Rollins tallied nine points.
