Elizabethton remains Class 4A No. 1, Hampton receives votes

A Carter County team continued to remain atop their class while another was just four points away from being inside the top 10.

Elizabethton continued to remain No. 1 in Class 4A, while Hampton was just four points away from the No. 10 spot in Class 2A.

In Class 4A, the Cyclones received 14-of-16 first-place votes to hold firm at No. 1. EHS, who fended off Daniel Boone on Friday, received 157 points in the poll – 21 points ahead of Hardin County.

Tullahoma, Springfield, and Marshall County rounded out the top five.

In Class 2A, Hampton received 24 points – just four points away from No. 10 Tyner Academy. The Bulldogs, who defeated Cloudland on Friday, were just 16 points behind No. 8 McKenzie.

Peabody, who received 14-of-15 first-place votes, remained at No. 1, while Meigs County and Lewis County were No. 2 and No. 3.

In addition to the Bulldogs, Region 1-2A saw South Greene also receive votes in the poll.
