It was mixed results for the Elizabethton basketball programs on Tuesday.
The Lady Cyclones jumped out early and rolled to a 64-40 victory at David Crockett, but the Cyclones were unable to edge back ahead in a 39-36 loss to the Pioneers.

For the Lady Cyclones, Kaylen Shell scored 16 points to lead the way, while Morgan Headrick added 11 points. Kelsie Winters scored 10 points for the Elizabethton cause.
EHS led 13-7 after a quarter of play and slowly pulled away from that point.
In the boys’ game, Elizabethton was unable to overcome a sluggish shooting performance against the Pioneers. After Crockett took an 8-6 advantage into the second quarter, the Cyclones pulled ahead to take a 19-15 lead into the half.
The Pioneers answered in the second half to regain the lead. EHS continued to fight, but was unable to get back in front in the closing minute.
Nico Ashley tallied 14 points to lead all scorers. Parker Hughes and Adam Cornett had six points apiece.
