Elizabethton’s Maupin named Climate Controllers Player of the Week

A strong performance stood out above the rest for the Week 10 Climate Controllers Player of the Week.

Elizabethton’s Cade Maupin has been named the Climate Controllers Player of the Week for his performance in the Cyclones’ win over Sullivan South on Friday night.

Maupin had 21 carries for 171 yards in the game, but none was as important as his 73-yard touchdown run.

Defensively, he added two tackles.

On the season, Maupin is closing in on the 1,000-yard rushing mark as he enters the final week of the regular season with 989 yards. He is averaging 6.9 yards per carry.

Maupin joins teammates Bryson Rollins and Jaxton Holly as selections for the Climate Controllers Player of the Week.

Other honorees this season include Conor Jones (Hampton), Landon Ramsey (Unaka), Eli Ayers (Happy Valley), Hunter Blair (Cloudland) and Triston Lacy (Cloudland).

Maupin and company close out the regular season at Sullivan Central.
