Elizabethton’s Bryson Rollins is receiving state recognition.
The sophomore quarterback has been named a semifinalist for the Class 4A Tennessee Titans Mr. Football award.
Rollins is one five semifinalists which includes Greeneville’s Ty Youngblood, Livingston Academy’s Will McDonald, Hardin County’s Rivers Hunt and Nolensville’s Tim Coutras.
The three finalists for the awards will be announced on Tuesday, Nov. 19.
Rollins has thrown for 1,459 yards and 19 touchdowns this season, and he is 87-of-124 passing for a .702 completion percentage. On the ground, the quarterback has rushed for 602 yards on 119 carries with 10 touchdowns.
Rollins and company are set to open the TSSAA Class 4A playoffs on Friday against East Ridge. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
