Thursday Recap: Cloudland takes win at Sullivan North Tournament

Arby’s Classic
Concord First Assembly (N.C.) 75, Hampton 44
The Bulldogs were unable to weather a fact-paced first quarter attacked in their opening game of the Arby’s Classic.

Hampton saw First Assembly take a 20-0 lead in the first quarter but continued to fight. The Bulldogs were able to keep pace the rest of the way, but was unable to erase the early deficit.

Jordan Bentley had 13 points to lead Hampton. Morgan Lyons had nine points. Izack Hill and Nate Wilson had five points apiece.


Webb School 65, Elizabethton 45
The Cyclones were unable to find an answer for “The Feet” defense that Webb is known for on the opening day of the Arby’s Classic.

Elizabethton battled but was unable to keep pace as Webb methodically pulled away to a 37-21 lead at the half. The Cyclones continued to battle, but was unable to find a run to close the gap.

Jake Roberts had 13 points to lead the way, while Nico Ashley had 11 points.

Action Athletics Christmas Tournament at Sullivan North
Cloudland 64, Cumberland Gap 53
Hunter Shell had the hot hand for Cloudland as the ‘Landers picked up a win on the opening day of the Sullivan North Christmas Tournament.

Shell scored 25 points to lead the way for Cloudland – who led 32-23 at the half. Elijah Blair had 12 points, while Conner Birchfield and Bentley Gilbert tallied nine points apiece in the win.

Tri-Cities Christian 75, Happy Valley 47
The Warriors were unable to bounce back from a rough second quarter in their opening game of the Action Athletics Christmas Tournament.

The game went into the second quarter tied at 16 apiece, but TC outscored the Warriors 20-8 in the second stanza to get some breathing room. HV continued to fight, but was unable to close the gap.

Luke Roberts ha 16 points to lead the way for HV, while Alex Lunceford finished with 15 points. Dylan Willis scored seven points.
