Friday Round-up: Lady Cyclones Move Past HV



Elizabethton 20, Happy Valley 1
The Lady Cyclones rolled to a county win on Friday afternoon.

Maely Inghram went 4-for-5 with two RBI to pace EHS, while Ember Jensen, Madisun Pritchard, Mollie Johnson, and Hannah Morgan had three hits apiece.

Cheyenne Poiriux and Johnson had three RBI apiece.

Ella Marvel, Laura Rice, and Reagan Street each had a hit for Happy Valley.

North Greene 11, Cloudland 1
The Lady ‘Landers came up short on the road Friday evening.

North Greene jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first inning and pushed the advantage to 3-0 after three.

Cloudland got on the board in the top of the fourth as Ryan Turbyfill scored off an Ella Benfield double. Taylor Hicks had bunted to move Turbyfill to second base.

The Lady Huskies, however, answered with four more runs in the home side to take full control.

Turbyfill finished the game with two hits.

West Ridge 22, Hampton 1
The Lady Bulldogs dropped a Friday nonconference game at West Ridge.

Macy Henry and Lacey Smith each had two hits apiece, while Smith had an RBI.

Jr. High Softball
Happy Valley, Gray 17 (Thursday)
The Lady Warriors won a thriller at Gray on Thursday.

HV saw Gray take a 9-2 lead after the first inning, but the Lady Warriors scored 14 runs over the final three innings to come back and take the win.

Alex Moore was 4-for-5 with four RBI, while Miley Miller had three hits and three RBI.

Joey Bowers had four RBI for the Lady Warriors.

Trinity Bowers recorded 11 strikeouts in the pitching circle to pick up the win.
