Happy Valley came up short on Friday night.
The Warriors were unable to rally late as HV dropped a 14-0 decision to Chuckey-Doak in the season-opening contest for HV.
The Black Knights improved to 1-1 on the year.
Points were hard to come by for both squads on Warrior Hill.
Happy Valley saw Andrew Little have some key runs early on, and the teams traded possessions throughout the first half.
The trio of Cayden Campbell, Bronson Normal, and Little tried to get the HV offense into the endzone with a rushing attack, and Blake Garmon and Landon Babb connected to get HV back in scoring position.
However, the Warriors were unable to get points on the board.
Chuckey-Doak jumped onto the board in the final minute of the third quarter. The Black Knights pushed the lead to 14-0 with just under nine minutes to play.
Happy Valley continued to battle but was unable to mount a comeback before the final horn.
Happy Valley returns to action on Thursday night with a trip to South Greene.
