Happy Valley rolls past SN

Happy Valley left no doubt in the fourth quarter on Friday night.

The Warriors scored 28 points in the final 12 minutes to pull away for a 44-16 road victory at Sullivan North in Region 1-2A action. HV scored 44 unanswered points in the game.


With the win, HV improves to 3-5 on the year.

The Raiders scored the game’s opening touchdown on a short run, and SN added the conversion to take an 8-0 lead after the first quarter.

Happy Valley, however, took control from there.

Dakota Cochran snuck into the end zone on a one-yard touchdown, and then caught a pass for the two-point conversion to tie the game up at 8-8. The Warriors struck again as Cochran hit Josh Hyatt for a 43-yard touchdown as the conversion gave HV a 16-8 advantage at the half.

Neither team was able to get on the board in the third quarter. HV struck first in the final stanza as Cochran added a short touchdown. Michael Harrah added the extra point to push the HV lead to 23-8.

The Warriors got back on the board as Cochran broke free for a 37-yard touchdown run. On the ensuing possession, Josh Hyatt forced a fumble and picked the ball up for a 35-yard Warrior defensive touchdown.

Defense continued to get in the scoring act for Happy Valley as Dylan McKeehan jumped on a bad snap in the end zone to account the final HV touchdown.

Cochran finished with 16 carries for 89 yards and three rushing touchdowns, while also going 4-for-8 passing for 78 yards and a score.

The Warriors return to Warrior Hill next Friday as they welcome West Greene.
