Happy Valley swept by East

The Happy Valley basketball teams came up short on Tuesday.

The Lady Warriors saw a fourth-quarter rally fall short in a 52-37 decision to Sullivan East, while the Warriors dropped a 82-41 decision against a hot-shooting Patriot squad.


In the girls’ game, the first quarter was a tight-knit battle as the teams traded shots in the early going. East held a slim 12-9 lead at the end of the first quarter.

The second quarter, however, saw the Lady Warriors unable to get the offense cranking as the Lady Patriots outscored HV 21-5 in the stanza to take a 33-14 lead at the half.

Happy Valley, however, battled back to trim the lead in the fourth quarter, but was unable to make a comeback against the Lady Patriots.

Jaiden Clark had 14 points to lead the Lady Warriors.

In the boys’ game, Sullivan East came out firing on all cylinders from behind the arc

The Patriots hit six first-quarter treys to take a 29-8 lead after eight minutes of play. HV continued to battle but was unable to counter the attack as East finished with 11 3’s in the first half.

Dylan Willis and Blake Young had 11 points each for HV.
