Happy Valley was unable to get back on track on Friday night.

The Warriors dropped a 31-7 decision to Grace Christian in Knoxville in non conference action. HV drops to 2-4 on the season with the loss.

Early in the game, Happy Valley saw the defense keep the Rams off the board.

The Warriors jumped on a fumble midway through the first quarter, and intercepted a GC pass in the first quarter. However, HV was unable to get anything going offensively as the game went to the second quarter scoreless.

The teams continued to trade possessions until Grace Christian got on the board with a 31-yard field goal. The Warriors were unable to convert a field goal attempt late in the quarter as HV trailed 3-0 going to the second half.

Midway through the third quarter, the Rams broke the game open. A pair of touchdowns in the third quarter gave GC a 17-0 advantage late in the quarter. Happy Valley, however, wasn’t going down without a fight as Eli Ayers found Dakota Cochran for a 30-yard touchdown. Michael Harrah added the extra point to trim the Rams lead to 10 points going to the fourth.

In the final quarter, Grace secured the win with a short touchdown pass and a defensive score.

Happy Valley is set to travel to Johnson County next Friday.
