Happy Valley came up short on Saturday night.
The Warriors saw their season come to a close with a 72-56 decision to District 2-AA top-seed Grainger County on Saturday in the Region 1-AA quarterfinals.
After the Grizzlies jumped out to a 7-2 lead, Happy Valley settled down and kept battling. The Warriors closed the gap to 18-14 at the end of the first quarter.
HV kept chipping away and closed within one point in the closing minutes of the first half. However, a late Grainger run put Happy Valley down 37-25 at the half.
That run proved to be too much for the Warriors to overcome.
Happy Valley cut the deficit to single digits in the final minutes but was unable to get back in front.
Chris Young led Happy Valley with 13 points. Bryce Carter added 12 points to the Warrior cause.
