Hughes Named Class 4A Mr. Football

Elizabethton’s Parker Hughes added another prestigious honor to his impressive resume.

Hughes has been named the Tennessee Titans Mr. Football for Class 4A. The award was announced on Tuesday at Nissan Stadium in Nashville.

Hughes edged out teammate Bryson Rollins and Hardin County’s Rivers Hunt for the award given to the top player in the state in each classification.

Hughes finished his senior season with 1,326 receiving yards on 62 catches. That led his average to be 21.4 yards per catch.

The senior had 20 receiving touchdowns on the year.

On the ground, Hughes had an impressive 12 yards per carry as he had 539 yards on 45 carries with seven touchdowns.

Hughes ended the year with 2,269 All-Purpose yards.
