Elizabethton was unable to keep pace with the hot Unicoi County bats on Friday.

The Lady Cyclones fell 10-0 to the Lady Blue Devils in the winner’s bracket of the District 1-AA Softball tournament at Sullivan East High School.

Elizabethton will look to stay alive on Monday at 7 p.m., as they will take on Sullivan Central in an elimination game.

EHS was unable to get anything going early on.

After Maggie Johnson got on base after being hit by base, the Lady Cyclones saw the next three batters retired in the top of the first, and Unicoi took advantage by taking a 2-0 lead in the home side of the frame.

Elizabethton saw Johnson record a single in the top of the third but the Lady Cyclones were unable to bring the run home. Unicoi, however, kept chipping away as the lady Blue Devils held a 6-0 lead after three complete. EHS continued to battle, but was unable to start a rally.

Haley Fair and Johnson each had a hit for Elizabethton.

In the circle, Madisun Pritchard slowed three earned runs on three hits, while Maddie O’Quinn allowed four earned runs on seven hits.

Halie Hawkins, Allee Griffith and Carly Kinsler led Unicoi with two hits apiece
