Lady Cyclones move past HV

The Lady Cyclones jumped out early and then held on for a Three Rivers Conference win on Wednesday night.

Elizabethton captured a 57-45 win over county foe Happy Valley inside Treadway Gymnasium.

In the first quarter, Elizabethton received nine points from Morgan Headrick to take a 13-4 advantage into the second quarter.

Happy Valley was able to get the offense going in the second period with five points from Olivia Absher, but EHS pushed the lead to 31-14 at the half.

The Lady Warriors continued to battle, but Elizabethton was able to answer every run that HV had to secure the win in the second half.

Headrick finished with 24 points, while Lina Lyon had 18 points. Renna Lane added seven points.

Elizabethton went 22-for-23 at the free-throw line.

Absher finished with 14 points for the Lady Warrior. Kadie Bailey added 12 points, while Marcida Moore had eight points.
