Lauren Brickey proved to be the catalyst for the Lady Cyclones on Monday.

Brickey mowed down the Lady Vikings and had a stellar game at the plate to power Elizabethton to an 11-1 victory over Tennessee High.

After the Lady Vikings scored the game’s first run in the top of the first inning, EHS answered as Kennedy Richardson scored off an Abbi McKinney fly ball.

Elizabethton took control in the bottom of the third as Maci West knocked Brickey across home plate, while McKinney and West scored off a Riddle single as the Lady Cyclones took a 4-1 lead into the fourth.

Brickey and the Lady Cyclones retired the Tennessee High batters in order in the fourth, and the Lady Cyclones added two runs in the home side of the frame.

The home side of the fifth saw Elizabethton leave no doubt as Brickey hit a three-run homerun. Jordan Grindstaff and Macie Herrmann scored in the bottom of the sixth to secure the win for Elizabethton.

Brickey finished the game 2-for-2 at the plate with four RBIs. In the circle, Brickey picked up the win by allowing just six hits and recording four strikeouts.

West finished the game 3-for-4, while Richardson and McKinney was 2-for-4.

The Lady Cyclones return to action on Wednesday at Johnson County.
