Elizabethton picked up a strong nonconference win on Thursday night.
The Lady Cyclones dispatched Morristown West 48-36 on the road.
Elizabethton took a slim 18-16 lead in the first quarter with Marlee Mathena tallying six points in the first eight minutes.
EHS used an 18-5 run in the second quarter to get some breathing room as Lina Lyon added eight points in the frame.
That gave Elizabethton a 38-26 lead at the half.
Elizabethton’s defense continued to keep Morristown West at bay during the second half as EHS picked up the win.
Lyon had 21 points to lead the Lady Cyclones, while Reena Lane and Mathena had 14 points apiece.
Nina Lovelace led Morristown West with 28 points.
