After Happy Valley got settled, it was easy going.
The Lady Warriors cruised to a 79-41 victory over Johnson County in the District 1-AA Quarterfinals on Thursday at Unicoi County.
With the win, Happy Valley is set to take on Elizabethton on Saturday with a berth in the District 1-AA Championship game. The win also clinched a Region 1-AA berth.
The opening minutes were a back-and-forth battle before HV took a 15-11 lead into the second quarter.
Happy Valley’s offense got cranking to outscore the Lady Longhorns 27-11 to take a 42-22 advantage into the half.
From there, it was all Lady Warriors as the outcome was never in doubt.
Emily Whitaker, Kaitlyn Roberts, and Adrienne Henegar led all scorers with 17 points apiece, while Shayln Whitson tallied 10 points. Bayley McGee had eight points.
Courtney Brooks led Johnson County with 16 points.
