The Happy Valley girls’ cross country team is headed back to state.
The Lady Warriors secured their spot in next Saturday’s state meet with a second-place finish in the Region 1 Small Schools Division meet at Daniel Boone on Thursday.
HV was led by Holly Moore’s ninth place finish as she covered the course in a time of 25:35, while Olivia Absher and Aubrie Caldwell finished in 11th and 12th to join Moore on the All-Region team. Absher and Caldwell recorded times of 26:38 and 26:43, respectively.
Chelsea Arnold, Madison Wagner, Kalee Roark and Emily Fisher also had solid finishes to help propel the Lady Warriors to the runner-up spot behind University High.
