Lady Warriors Outlast Cumberland Gap To Advance

Happy Valley kept their season alive.

The Lady Warriors outlasted Cumberland Gap for a 50-39 Region 1-2A quarterfinal victory on Warrior Hill on Friday night.

With the win, Happy Valley advanced to the Region 1-2A semifinals against Gatlinburg Pittman. The game will be played at 7:30p on Monday at Gatlinburg-Pittman.

Happy Valley got an early spark from Holly Moore as she scored five points in the opening eight minutes as HV held an 11-10 advantage after a quarter of play.

The Lady Warriors pushed the lead to 24-18 at the half as Marcida Moore and Kenzie Ramey each tallied four points in the frame for HV.

Kadie Bailey took over the third quarter as she scored eight points to open the third quarter. That allowed HV to push the lead to eight points, and the Lady Warriors secured the win in the fourth by taking care of business on the free-throw line.

H. Moore had 13 points to lead the Lady Warriors, while Ramey had 11 points. Bailey added 10 points.

Scarlett Zeoli had nine points.

Emery Glover led Cumberland Gap with 14 points.
