Lady Warriors Roll Past UH; Warriors Fall Short

Happy Valley split a pair of varsity contests with University High on Thursday night.

In the girls’ game, HV jumped out early and rolled to a 54-16 victory, while the Warriors came up short in a 66-52 decision.

In the girls’ game, Happy Valley hit the ground running with a 15-4 run to open the game. In the second quarter, the Lady Warriors continued to limit the Lady Bucs and outscored UH 19-4 in the frame to take a 32-8 halftime lead.

From there, it was all HV.

Marcida Moore had 13 points to lead the way for HV, while Kenzie Ramey added 11 points. Scarlett Zeoli added 10 points.

Kadie Bailey and Holly Moore finished with nine and eight points, respectively.

In the boys’ contest, Happy Valley had to battle back from an early deficit.

University High jumped out to a 24-14 lead after eight minutes of play, but the Warriors stayed within striking distance throughout the second quarter.

The Warriors continued to battle in the second half. However, they were unable to put a run to get past the Bucs.

Landon Babb had 18 points to lead the Warriors. Colby Chausee added 10 points.
