Monday Round-up: Cyclones move past Warriors



Elizabethton 8, Happy Valley 1 (baseball)
The Cyclones scored six runs in the fifth and sixth innings to take control and the win.

Ryan Wetzel was 3-for-4 at the plate to lead EHS, while Evan Perkins was 2-for-2 with two RBI. Corey Russell also plated two runs for the Cyclone effort.

Will Hampton led the Warriors with a 2-for-4 performance at the plate.

On the mound, Tre Shoun picked up the win with a complete game effort as he allowed one unearned run on four hits with seven strikeouts.

Nolan Easlic was handed the loss despite a strong performance for Happy Valley.

North Greene 4, Hampton 1 (baseball)
The Bulldogs were unable to get any offense going on Monday evening in Baileyton.

Josh Owens and Dalton Rouse recorded the lone hits for Hampton, while NG pitcher Zane Potter recorded 14 strikeouts.

University High 12, Cloudland 0 (Baseball)
The ‘Landers were on the wrong side of perfection on Monday.

UH pitcher Cas Blevins retired all 15 batters in order to lead the Bucs to the win.

Logan Ingram and Dave Ramey shared pitching duties for the ‘Landers.

Sullivan East 10, Happy Valley 6 (Softball)
The Lady Patriots jumped out to a 4-0 lead after two innings and held on for the win.

The Lady Warriors, who plated two runs in the top of the third, got the offense going for four runs in the top of the seventh but was unable to complete the rally.

Kadie Havner plated three runs with a home run, while Kaitlyn Rboerts, Olivia Absher and Machi Puckett had two hits apiece for the Lady Warriors.
