Unaka 8, Cloudland 5 (Baseball)
The Rangers were able to hold on for a key District 1-A home win on Monday.
Unaka saw Nick Nunley tally a 3-for-3 performance at the plate, while Daniel Shearl, Bryson Street and Davy Ensor each had two hits. Shearl picked up the win on the mound for the Rangers, while John Ramsey picked up the save.
Dillon Johnson paced Cloudland with a 2-for-4 performance. Jay Isaacs and Collin Morgan each had a hit for the ‘Landers.
Elizabethton 7, Johnson County 0 (Baseball)
The Cyclones plated five runs in the fifth to leave no doubt in Mountain City on Monday.
EHS scored two runs in the top of the second to take a 2-0 lead. The Cyclones were able to take advantage of baserunners in the fifth as Bryson Rollins plated a run with a single, and then Evan Carter hit a triple to score two runs. Evan Perkins cleaned up with a shot over the left field fence to cap the scoring.
Karson Dillard, Matthew Dailey, Ashton Wilson Rollins, Carter and Perkins each had a hit in the game, while Perkins and Carter added two RBIs apiece.
On the mound, Carter threw a complete-game gem as he allowed just four hits with seven strikeouts.
Unicoi County 3, Happy Valley 0 (baseball)
The Warriors were unable to edge ahead of Unicoi in a Three Rivers clash.
Unicoi took a 1-0 lead in the top of the fifth and added two runs in the seventh despite a masterful game by the Happy Valley pitchers.
Dylan Willis, Caden Ward and Zac Workman each had a hit for HV. On the mound, Michael Harrah recorded six innings of work as he struck out 10 batters while allowing just two earned runs on six hits.
North Greene 2, Hampton 0 (Baseball)
The Bulldogs were unable to pull of the upset at North Greene.
Hampton kept the Huskies at bay the course of the game but was unable to get the offensive attack rolling.
Parker Henry, Dalton Rouse, Landon Street, Caleb Royston and Josh Owens each had a hit for Hampton, while Morgan Lyons and Owens combined to hold North Greene to just two hits.
North Greene 10, Cloudland 3 (softball)
The Lady ‘Landers dropped a hard-fought road battle.
North Greene totaled 13 hits to pull away from CHS for the win. Karah Fields led the way for CHS with a 2-for-4 performance.
Jasmine Birchfield, Heaven Caraway and Fields accounted for the three Cloudland runs.
