In a Saturday night special, Elizabethton was able to come out on top.
The Cyclones slowly pulled away to take a 6-0 victory over Hampton at Scotty Bunton Field in nonconference action at Hampton.
After the first two innings ended scoreless, EHS plated a single run in the third and another in the fourth to take a 2-0 advantage after four complete innings.
Hampton continued to battle, but Elizabethton was able to plate two more runs in the fifth and two more in the seventh to secure the win.
Zack Workman was 3-for-3 with three RBI for the Cyclones, while Peyton Johnson was 2-for-3.
Cade Russell added a hit.
Brody Hicks, Caleb Royston, and Chance Point each added a hit for the Bulldogs.
On the mound, Wesley Shankles picked up the win as he allowed just three hits in five innings of work.
Caleb Royston allowed just two earned runs on three hits in just under five innings of work for the Bulldogs.
