The Elizabethton softball team was unable rally on Monday afternoon.

The Lady Cyclones saw Unicoi County take a 6-2 victory in Three Rivers Conference action.

After the Lady Blue Devils took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first with a leadoff homer by Halie Hawkins, Elizabethton got two runners on base in the home side of the frame but was unable to bring a run home. UC added another run to their advantage in the second.

The third and fourth innings saw neither team able to plate a run. The Lady Blue Devils added a run to the lead in the top of the fifth, but Elizabethton countered with a run of their own as Kira Dillard drove Maggie Johnson across home plate with a double.

The Lady Cyclones looked to rally in the bottom of the seventh after Unicoi had pushed the lead to five runs. Maddie O’Quinn scored off a Dillard sacrifice, but that would be the lone run EHS was able to plate.

Chloe Force, O’Quinn and Johnson each had two hits a piece, while Kaylen Shell, Haley Fair, Madisun Pritchard and Dillard had a hit apiece.

In the circle, Pritchard allowed just four earned runs on 13 hits with four strikeouts.
