Playoff time is fast approaching. While some teams know their fate, there is still work to be done. With two weeks remaining, we take a look at the playoff race.
Region 1-A
Cloudland has clinched the title as well as the No. 1 seed with a perfect 4-0 record, and Oakdale has clinched the No. 2 spot. The battle is for the No. 3 seed as the winner of Thursday’s Hancock County and Unaka game will claim the spot.
Region 1-AA
With the Gatlinburg-Pittman upset of Happy Valley, tiebreakers will most likely come into play as three teams are currently tied for the top spot in Hampton, the Warriors and the Highlanders. All eyes will be on GP’s trip to Sullivan North in Week 11, but all three teams have work to do this week as a loss will drop them out of contention.
The fourth seed is also up for grabs between Sullivan North and South Greene. The Rebels, however, will have a taller task with Gatlinburg-Pittman and Happy Valley remaining on the schedule.
In case you were wondering, here are the tiebreakers if there are more then two teams tied.
1. The team with the greatest number of victories.
2. The team who plays the greatest number of teams who win 50 percent or more of their games.
3. The team who has the greatest number of victories over teams winning 50 percent or more of their games.
4. The team whose opponents have earned the most victories.
5. The team whose opponents have received fewer defeats.

Region 1-AAA
Elizabethton is in the driver’s seat of the region one race, but Northview Academy is also still a factor. The Cyclones have clinched a home game for the first round, and can clinch at least a share of the conference title with a win over Chuckey-Doak.
EHS and Northview are set to face in Week 11 with the winner taking the No. 1 seed – granted both teams win in Week 10. Elizabethton remains undefeated in the region race, while the Cougars are 4-1.
No. 3 and No. 4 are up for grabs with three teams – Unicoi County, Johnson County and Pigeon Forge tied with 3-2 marks.
