Wednesday was a busy afternoon for local high schoolers at the Elizabethton Golf Course.
Hampton captured the win on the girls’ side as they edged Happy Valley and Unaka.
For the Lady Bulldogs, Macy Henry fired a 44, while Rylie McClain and Gracie Jenkins carded rounds of 48 and 59.
Happy Valley’s Cayden Anderson was the medalist for the afternoon as she tallied a 43. Hannah Monroe recorded a 53 for HV.
Unaka saw Alexa Henshaw fire a 50, while Emma Taylor and Laikyn Stevens had rounds of 56 and 58, respectively. Mollie Buckles finished with a 59, and Amarana Harter ended the day with a 63.
On the boys’ side, Johnson County picked up the team win by edging Hampton by three strokes.
The Bulldogs were led by Jonah Gable’s 47, and Jude Hickman added a 48. Ezra Tolley ended the day with a 51, while Jackson Smith and Korbyn Woodby carded rounds of 54 and 57, respectively.
Unaka saw Mason Wilson fire a 41 for medalist honors, while Brayden Powell added a 51. Gavin Shoun had a 58.
Sam Lewis carded a 63.
For the Warriors, Colton Pemberton led the way with a 47, while Colby Chausse and Julian Pate carded scores of 58 and 63, respectively.
Johnson County saw Graham Reece fire a 42. Grayson Holt shot a 50, and Cameron Crowder cared a 51. Peyton Pavusek and Kaiden Blevins rounded out the Longhorn efforts with rounds of 52 and 59, respectively.
