Elizabethton continued to stay on a roll on Friday night.

Behind an outstanding performance from Corey Russell, the Cyclones rolled to a 35-21 victory over Tennessee High in non conference action.

With the win, EHS improved to 6-0 on the season heading into the bye week.
The Cyclones offense was firing on all cylinders to open the game.

On the first EHS drive, Russell scored on a seven-yard run and the Jaxton Holly extra point gave the Cyclones a 7-0 advantage. Russell pushed the lead to 14-0 with a short run in the final minute of the opening quarter to give EHS a 14-0 lead after 12 minutes of play.

After Tennessee High got on the board late in the second quarter, Carter Everett hit Russell for a 60-yard touchdown to cap the first-half scoring.

Russell, who filled in for Everett at QB in the second half, found Evan Perkins for a 24-yard touchdown midway through the third quarter, and also connected with Parker Hughes for a 75-yard touchdown to send Elizabethton into the final quarter with a 35-7 lead.

Tennessee High was able to scored two touchdowns in the closing minutes, but the outcome was never in doubt.

Russell finished with 160 yards passing, 113 receiving and 78 yards rushing.
